Aušrinė Šilenskytė

Chair is responsible for strategic development of the SIG and planning of the upcoming year of the SIG; oversees all Shared Interest Group functions, including member outreach, event coordination, and financial management.
Ausrine Silenskyte
Aušrinė Šilenskytė (Ausrine Silenskyte) is a Researcher and a Program Manager (Bachelor in International Business) at the School of Management, University of Vaasa, Finland. She also serves as a chair at the Academy of International Business Teaching and Education Shared Interest Group. Šilenskytė holds a PhD in the area of international management, and her research centers around strategy implementation in MNCs, technology (e.g., SaaS, blockchain) adoption in International Business (IB) management, and teaching IB. Aušrinė is also interested in utilization of critical realism philosophy of science for the IB theory development. She has published in the journals such as Journal of Business Research, Critical Perspectives on International Business, Journal of Teaching in International Business. Aušrinė teaches various topics related to international management for undergraduates, master’s degree students, as well as professionals in continuous education. She served as a digital mentor supporting teacher-colleagues in adopting recent technologies in their courses. Aušrinė is an alumnus of prestigious Nord-IB program, she has also received several international awards for her research and as an educator.

The Vice Chair, AIB Conference Events is in charge of working with AIB chapters and co-creating teaching and education focused events in various regions and regional conferences.
Cyntia Vilasboas Calixto
Cyntia Vilasboas Calixto is a lecturer at Fundaçao Getulio Vargas – FGV (Brazil). She earned her PhD in Business Strategy from FGV, which included an exchange program at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
Her research interests are related to International Business, Business Models and Tech Companies. She has substantial experience in supporting foreign companies in doing business in Brazil and advising Brazilian companies interested in exporting and expanding their operations abroad.

The Vice Chair, Resources is in charge of exploring and acquiring resources for the SIG including research resources and sponsorships. They also leverage internal sources and explore external sources for resources to enhance the SIG’s operations.
Miguel Cordova Espinoza
Miguel Cordova is Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), and Internationalization Leader for the Management Department and Management School at PUCP. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Sustainability from Consorcio de Universidades in Lima; he has doctoral studies at the Copenhagen Business School, and an MBA from Centrum Católica. His research is oriented to Power and Influence in Organizations, Sustainability, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship, and International Business. He was visiting professor at Inseec Business School in París, Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile, ESADE University in Barcelona, and UDEM in Monterrey. He is Associate Editor at the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education and Deputy Editor at 360 Journal of Management Sciences. He is Country Director for Peru at the Academy of International Business – Latin America and the Caribbean chapter (AIB-LAC) and Resources Vice-Chair of the AIB Teaching & Education SIG.
He has +10 years in teaching and +20 years of experience as manager and director in different economic sectors such as foods and beverages, construction, pharmaceutical, energy, sports & entertainment, and information technology.

Marleen Dieleman

The Vice Chair, Teaching Innovations is leading the Teaching Innovation Award, promotes innovative teaching and facilitates knowledge sharing about the innovating teaching practices among the AIB members
Marleen Dieleman
Marleen Dieleman is an expert on strategy and governance in Asian family business groups. She published widely on this and her work is regularly quoted in international media. She won various teaching awards and is a regular speaker. She also worked with various Asian family firms as a consultant and board member.
Marleen’s research focuses on corporate strategy, in particular of Asian family business groups. She has published various academic articles, books and cases on this topic. She is interested in how family business groups are governed, how they operate in emerging market environments characterised by weak institutions, and how they diversify, innovate, professionalize and internationalize over time.
Her work on Asian family businesses has been widely recognized and mentioned in global media, including the Financial Times, Bloomberg and local media in Asia. She also leads the Asian Family Business program at NUS Business School.
Marleen has a special interest in Indonesian business and often travels there and publishes academic articles on strategy in Indonesian companies. She also leads the School’s joint program with Astra International, one of Indonesia’s largest diversified groups. Aside from this she has led workshops for many other Indonesian firms, including Indofood, Kalbe Farma, SMART, and Modern Group. She also works with Asian families from other countries.
Marleen won the “outstanding educator award” from NUS Business School as well as the “annual teaching excellence award” from the National University of Singapore for the past 3 years. She teaches corporate strategy and family business across all levels, including BBA, MBA and executive programs. In particular, she enjoys working with family firm boards on issues around strategy and governance.
Marleen has worked as a consultant for various Asian business families on improving the governance of the family and the business. She was an independent director of Mercator Lines (Singapore) Ltd from 2014-2016.
She has also published several reports on gender diversity in listed company boards in Asia. She has given numerous talks and media interviews on this topic and, as such, she contributed to greater awareness among corporates and the government of the low levels of gender diversity in Asian boards, in particular in Singapore.

Ilke Kardes
Ilke Kardes is currently an Associate Professor of International Business at Valdosta State University. She received multiple teacher excellence awards and recognitions. Previously, Dr. Kardes taught classes in International Business at the Institute of International Business and served as Research Director at Center for International Business and Education Research (CIBER) at Georgia State University. Her research interests primarily focus on emerging markets, middle class, cross border e-commerce, digital business, and pedagogy in higher education. Her academic career and abilities have been shaped in different cultures including United States, Germany, and Turkey during years. Ilke is fluent in English, German, and Turkish.

Karen Lynden is a Lecturer at the Cameron School of Business, Department of Management, University of North Carolina Wilmington, supporting the International Business and Management concentration. Her teaching philosophy is centered on experiential and project-based learning within the international business and management disciplines.
She brings with her 20+ years of higher education and industry experience. Organizations have relied on her to develop and lead successful global and domestic teams while managing a broad portfolio of client accounts and projects. Her experience includes creating and facilitating travel abroad opportunities for students, as well as developing and executing organizational development programs and professional development workshops and programs.
Karen’s primary research interests include; training and development, global virtual teams, and international management topics.

Daria Panina
Dr. Daria Panina is a Clinical Professor of Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, USA. She holds Ph.D. from Rutgers University, USA. Daria teaches international business and management courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and directs several Study Abroad programs annually. Dr. Panina does research in the areas of cross-cultural skills and global competencies development.

Matevž (Matt) Rašković
Matevž Rašković, known as Matt, is an Associate Professor of International Business & Strategy at Auckland University of Technology in Aotearoa New Zealand. Matt is also a visiting professor at Ljubljana University (Slovenia) and a guest professor at Zhejiang University (China). As a member of the AIB Diversity & Inclusion taskforce, Matt has a keen interest in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within AIB. As Vice-President Marketing at the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) and a member of the AIB Oceania chapter, Matt seeks ways to connect Australia and New Zealand with the rest of the international business academic communities. Matt’s research focuses on the intersection of international business and economic sociology, where he works with social identity and socio-cognitive theory. He is the recipient of the 2019 Victoria University of Wellington Teaching Excellence Award and was a former Director of Learning and Teaching at Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Marketing and International Business. Matt was also a 2017 Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University, FAS and currently serves as Senior editor for the European Journal of International Management. He aims to sparking passionate curiosity through his teaching and often draws on storytelling. In his free time, Matt likes to run, hike and explore the South Pacific.

Marina Schmitz

Responsible for creating online content and online/conference events that would direct IB educators towards inclusive practices of IB education, and better collaboration of educators from dominant and under-represented regions. Supporting and promoting inclusiveness within AIB T&E SIG.
Marina Schmitz
Marina Schmitz serves as a lecturer at the the Coca-Cola Chair of Sustainable Development at IEDC-Bled School of Management in Bled, Slovenia. Previously, she was working as a Lecturer, Research Associate and Project Manager at the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM) at CBS International Business School in Cologne, Germany. Marina is passionate about challenging the status quo of how we understand and teach economy and management-related content to our students. To accomplish this goal and to create a more inclusive and sustainable society and business environment, she seeks the exchange with fellow educators and practitioners.
